Ian Allardyce - Director, Shooting PD & Cinematographer.
Hello, I’ve been directing and shooting films for nearly twenty years.
In the last two years I've directed two feature documentaries for News Broadcasting; one of which sold in numerous territories. During those two productions I shot in the Taliban's heartland, Zabul and with (then) HRH The Prince of Wales.
I started my career in the nascent Mongolian TV industry where I directed the nation’s first talent show and worked on the BBC's Genghis Khan documentary. My love of the country led me to produce several Mongolian films, which screened at major festivals such as Busan, Locarno, London Short Film Festival and many others.
I’m both a BAFTA Connect and Directors UK member. I'm on the BBC Preferred Supplier List and hold a BECTU Press Card.
I’m also Hostile Environment First Aid Trained (HEFAT) and have worldwide shoot insurance.
I founded the production company Really Nice Films Ltd, which creates short form content for agencies, brands and publishers. Our equipment includes Sony FX6 & FX3 cameras, prime & zoom lenses, gimbals, drones, full interview lighting, wireless and boom audio. We also offer editing and colour grading. We are currently developing an international documentary series.
When I’m not working or plotting new Mongolian film projects, I’ll be hanging with my wife and son, or cycling, or both.
I hope to work with you soon, Ian.
